Hoi! I'm Lore, an English-to-Dutch marketing translator, transcreator and editor. I combine my background in languages and localisation with a sense of creativity to help lifestyle brands express themselves authentically in Dutch. My goal is to make sure your brand sounds like itself in Dutch: clear, consistent and full of personality.
Successful campaigns are built on thoughtful copy that packs a punch. Words that resonate – skilfully crafted, with clarity, creativity and conviction in every line.
Services
I offer end-to-end Dutch localisation support, from local brand voice guidance and style guide creation to glossary management, linguistic quality assurance, cultural consulting and more.
Creative Translation
For blogs, press releases, newsletters, web pages, recipes, guides, product descriptions and more - so fluent it's like they were never even translated.
Transcreation
For creative content with strong emotional impact, like taglines, social and email campaigns, print ads, infographics and more.
Editing
For a final review of your translated or monolingual text to get your content ready for publishing.
From reading Harry Potter under the blankets to teaching my sister the Dragonology alphabet: I've always loved languages.I got my Master's in Translation in 2016, followed by a Postgraduate Programme in Specialised Translation. I started my career as an in-house translator at a translation agency in Cambridge in 2017. Two years later, I took the leap into freelancing and specialised in marketing translation. I've been helping brands achieve their Dutch dreams ever since (a dream come true for me, too). When I'm not translating, you'll find me drawing, crafting and spending time outdoors with my Rottweiler Poppy – who is slowly turning into a mascot for my business.

Great for longer-form content, like blogs, press releases, newsletters, web pages, recipes, guides, product descriptions, whitepapers and more. Here's how it works:
Step 1: Introduction
After the initial enquiry, we jump into an email thread (or on a call) to discuss your brand, the content, the project and your needs.
Depending on the complexity of the project, I may send a short form with some follow-up questions to ensure absolute clarity before we jump in.
Step 2: Pricing & Quote
Once we're on the same page, you send me the source files for a free, no-obligation quote.
Translation projects are quoted on a per-project or per-word basis.Once the cost, timelines and deliverables are clear, I take a 50% deposit and get started on the copy.
Step 3: Process & Delivery
Once I've got the final source files, reference materials and briefing, I translate the source content per the project requirements and deliver the files as agreed.
One round of revisions is included in the cost.Payment is due within 14 days of delivery.

A revision step is crucial to ensure a flawless result before publication. But first, some definitions:Proofreading = ensuring correct grammar and spelling
Editing = editing the copy for structure, flow, style and fluency

Take a look at some of the projects I’ve worked on:
Etsy's buyer emails each feature a certain aesthetic or product. They often contain puns, imagery and cultural references, which need to be preserved and/or adapted in the Dutch version. I've translated many of these emails, inspiring Dutch buyers to visit shops and browse collections.
Etsy's Seller Handbook contains articles to help sellers succeed on Etsy's marketplace. Click below to read one of the articles I've translated (make sure to switch the language to Dutch in the bottom-left corner).
Yazio's email and IAM campaigns motivate users with uplifting and supportive content. Empathetic and relatable language is key. Many of these campaigns have two distinct tone of voice variants for A/B testing or depending on the audience: a more down-to-earth version and a more playful, entertaining version (often aimed at Yazio's Gen Z audience).
CLAWPUNK is a 2D Action game by Kittens in Timespace. I translated the Dutch Steam page as well as the full in-game content, packed with cat puns. Stay tuned for the release!
Dott is a European micromobility provider. I translated the following blog articles:
• A helping hand for our communities
• More than just climate-neutral
Deliveroo's consumer Merch cards appear as special offers in the app and on the website. They often have set designs and challenging length restrictions, as well as wordplay and cultural references.
